Just Released: The Art of Music Publishing - 1 February 2011

Helen Gammons is extremely proud to announce that The Art of Music Publishing is now available to buy in paperback format through Focal Press. Released today (1st February 2011) after an overwhelming pre-release presence in the Amazon Top 20, the book is available in physical format at all good stores in addition to the usual online channels. MIDEM 2011: Plugging, Plugging. - 28 January 2011

Helen Gammons, author of the upcoming book The Art of Music Publishing has just returned from MIDEM 2011, a music-industry-specific event that takes place in Cannes, France. Each year, thousands of industry executives meet at the sunny coastal town’s Palais Du Festival to deliberate the happenings of the year gone, as well as to form opinion on what awaits in the year ahead. Helen joined the likes of TAG Strategic’s Ted Cohen, Peermusic CEO Ralph Peer, and media futurist Gerd Leonhard, taking part in a host of panels covering a range of subjects from performance to publishing, and never missing an opportunity to plug the book of course! January – MIDEM

In her role as Head of Business School at the world renowned Academy of Contemporary Music, Helen is taking a group of 15 Music Business Management Students to Cannes for this year’s MIDEM. The Students will in turn each take with them a project for presentation to the thousands of industry executives who will attend the conference and trade event. Check back for the results!

February – Music Connex Pre-Event Networking

MusicConnex provides a platform to network, develop skills, showcase and inspire. Its aim is to support and encourage artists and creative business minds to best position, manage and monetise your music career. With the main event being held in April (19th – 21st), Helen is attending this pre-event networking session to meet with other speakers and panelists. March – Simon Napier Bell Arrives in UK

Mentioned in her book, The Art of Music Publishing, Helen will welcome songwriter and music manager, Simon Napier Bell to the UK where he will talk to Music Business Management Students at The Academy of Contemporary Music, in Guildford, Surrey. As head of the Academy’s Business School, Helen is always seeking to bring in interesting speakers for her courses. If you fit the bill, get in touch, here.

April - Going Roto and then to Acapulco

Helen will be attending NAB 2011, the Digital Media Industry Event for Video, Audio, Film & Communications Professionals. Held in Las Vegas, Helen will be promoting her book, The Art of Music Publishing, as well as representing the revolutionary new lighting product, Rotolight, a creation of husband, Rod Gammons and distributed by Appleworld Distribution. After the event, Helen will be heading off for a well earned holiday before returning for the start of the summer term at ACM. May – International Visitors

Helen and her team at The Academy of Contemporary Music are looking forward to welcoming a host of international visitors to the college’s Business School. The event, which is currently being put together, will be a unique meeting of young music business minds from the international community, and the first of its kind anywhere in the world.
